Your Journey to You – Following The Dream and Following Opportunity Too – The Urban Farmer – Season 2 – Week 14

Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.”

That’s a quote from the great book, Oh, the Places You’ll Go. The last great book written by Ted Geisel, but better known as Dr. Seuss.

It’s a story about possibility. It’s a story about you following your own path; one that won’t be easy, but one that will be worth the walk.

We all have this great chance to go great places.

Yet we all don’t take it.

Today’s episode is a look at the opportunity and why some people squander it, and why some people don’t.

Notes from this episode of The Urban Farmer:

  • Do you like the business end or farming or just growing?
    • What do you like?  You can do just that.
  • Pivoting is OK.
  • If you get too fixated on the dream you may miss opportunities.
  • Take some time to express gratitude for what you do have.  It will make the tough times easier to get through, because the tough times will for sure come.
  • You may want it to be easy, but don’t expect it to be easy because it won’t be.
  • If you think what you are doing is hard, how easy is the alternative.  And look at the alternative completely and objectively, because it may not be as easy as it seems on surface.
  • Are you getting returns out of mistakes and failures?  You need to be.
  • Follow the opportunity to fulfill the dream.
  • The more successful we become the more choice we create.
