When was the last time that something or someone really caught you off guard and punched you in the face?
Another way of asking that is, how mundane is your life?
Are you drifting along or are you pushing yourself upstream and outside of your comfort zone? Are you just going with the flow or are you challenging yourself and who you are, and in doing so, getting punched in the face.
Tyler Durden the fictitious character played by Brad Pitt in the movie Fight Club said it so well….
“Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who’ve ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don’t need. We’re the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War’s a spiritual war… our Great Depression is our lives. We’ve all been raised on television to believe that one day we’d all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won’t. And we’re slowly learning that fact. And we’re very, very pissed off.”
Is your life mundane?
It’s a question that only you can answer, and it’s an answer that you can’t hide from showing itself each day.
If you are living your life far away from the mundane, then great, keep going for it.
But if you are feeling like your life is mundane, then why not fight back, and join a club. A club where you willing sign up to get punched… literally or figuratively.
Whether it’s MMA or becoming a freelancer or business owner, the punches will be thrown, and they will hit you.
But as Mike Tyson said, “Everybody has a plan until they punched in the face. Then, like a rat, they stop in fear and freeze.”
When life hits you in the face what are you going to do?
Are you going to freeze like a rat, or are you going to come back like Mike Tyson and be that baddest man on the planet?
The hard reality of that question, is that it truly is up to you to decide.
What would you do?
Let’s find out what a former MMA fighter turned farmer did, and find out from out what’s it’s like to get punched into the face by life, and someone else…
