After purchasing the audiobook version of Essentialism, I quickly realized that I would also need the print version to be able to go back and re-read, take notes, and use for the charts. The audiobook version is great on the go, but I don’t think you will get as much out of the book via audio as you would via print, but maybe that’s just me.

In DTW #387 I introduce the book by referencing the chart below.  I think this chart gives you a nice way to think about all of the business, personal and other tasks you take on in life.  I was definitely caught in the trap of classifying everything in business as “I have to” and this book is helping me realize that I don’t have to.

  1. I read this book early this year and in combination with the 7 habits of effective people it is a great resource for prioritizing things. I learned about the book from listening to this podcast: https://www.entreleadership.com/podcasts/160-greg-mckeowndo-less-and-accomplis

I have an hour commute currently and there are two podcasts that I for sure listen to if I don’t have an audiobook – this one and the entreleadership podcast. Entreleadership for personal growth and growth in my current job and Permaculture Voices for the business I will be moving into. By the sounds of some of the verbage that Javan and Rob use it would seem that they listen to the entreleadership podcast too.
